Supercomputer Systems

Supercomputers are the fastest types of computers which were very expensive and requires a lot of mathematical calculations. The first generation of super computer was developed by VON-Newman. This computer generation of supercomputers had only one controller and was called VON-Newman. Modern super computers systems are equipped with many processors enabling them to to process complex operation, e.g. weather forecast which will needs to be processed within a short period. The supercomputers market is include of the government research agencies, large university and major corporations. The speed of operation of the supercomputer is billion to trillion per second.

Mainframe Computer Systems

Mainframe computer systems is a very large expensive computer system capable of supporting hundreds and thousands of users simultaneously, most of these computers are found in large organizations like universities, hospitals, world governing body like UN among many others. Mainframe computer systems is large, fast, and powerful which is this systems have large primary storage capacity, high transaction, and handles complex computation. The mainframe widely used as super servers for the company have large client/server networks and high-volume internet website. Mainframe also become a popular computing platform for data mining and warehousing and also is electronic commerce applications.

Microcomputer Systems

Microcomputers are also known as personal computers and are the ones mostly found in big and small office, they are normally standalone computers known PC, or Desktop Computers. Micro Computers are small and expensive designed for individual use. It contains two types of memories RAM and ROM. Some manufacturing companies of micro computers include HP Computers Dell Computers IBM Computers and many more. The microcomputers use in workstations and network servers. For the workstation use the microcomputers to supports have mathematical computer and graphics display demands, however network servers are more powerful than workstations. The network servers coordinates telecommunication and resource sharing and support small network servers and internet or intranet websites.

Mobile Computers

Mobile computers is a special purpose computer examples is digital phone, digital camera and PDA. Mobile computers like a small computers that user can be carried in a pocket and can take it go anywhere. For example is the personal digital assistants (PDAs). PDAs is use on touch screens, handwriting recognition, or keypads, this PDAs can help the worker exchange data with desktop PCs or servers and also can help the user access email to send some information to people.

Midrange Systems

Midrange systems also define as midrange computer which is a class of computer systems which fall inbetween mainframe computers and microcomputers. Notable midrange computer lines include Digital Equipment Corporation (PDP line), Data General, Hewlett-Packard(HP 3000 line), IBM(System/3 and successors), and Sun Microsystems (SPARC Enterprise). Midrange systems is a high-end network serves which is handle large-scale processing of business applications. But the power is not as powerful as mainframes so the price of midrange systems or more cheap than mainframes.
